Small Steps Can Add Up to a Big Win

The Take the Next Step program focuses on a common complication of diabetes called painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. Another common term is Diabetic Nerve Pain. This complication can:

  • Hurt quality of life
  • Make daily activities more difficult
  • Get in the way of the day-to-day aspects of good diabetes care

The goal of this program is to:

  • Highlight the importance of Diabetic Nerve Pain
  • Provide useful information and tools to people who suffer from Diabetic Nerve Pain
  • Educate people with diabetes that Diabetic Nerve Pain is a complication that can be treated and managed with a specific nerve pain prescription medication

Dr. Edelman, who has been living with diabetes since the age of 15, is the founder and director of Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD), a not-for-profit 501(c)3 diabetes education organization founded in 1995. Committed to promoting education, motivation and self-advocacy for people living with diabetes, Dr. Edelman has become a local, national and international leader in diabetes treatment, research, and especially education. He champions the cause of patient advocacy and has dedicated his life to helping people with diabetes live healthier lives.
