TCOYD Conferences—a Full Day of Diabetes Management Information and Empowerment

TCOYD holds conferences and health fairs in cities across the nation each year.
These events bring together thousands of people with diabetes, those at risk for
diabetes, as well as their loved ones. There, national and local medical professionals
and others share their expertise related to living with the disease. The conferences
make for a day of highly informative and motivational programs.
Attendees make their choices from multiple topics. They can also take advantage
of one-on-one discussions with professionals—from podiatrists to psychologists to
nutrition experts.
Throughout the sessions, TCOYD attendees receive unbiased information on topics
such as:
- The latest clinical research
- New equipment and medications
- Proper diet and exercise
- Legal and insurance issues
- Resources that are available to people with diabetes and their families
Participants also hear a keynote speaker, a model of living well with diabetes.
The speaker’s personal accounts are often moving and highly inspirational.
TCOYD health fairs, which run in tandem with the conferences, include informational
booths. Attendees can talk directly with
- Manufacturers of diabetes medications and supplies
- Providers of services and programs available for people with diabetes in their local
communities
The Biggest Loser’s Kim Lyons will also speak at TCOYD conferences this
fall. Kim Lyons will appear in Milwaukee, Santa Clara, San Diego, and Albuquerque
to share important information about Diabetic Nerve Pain with conference attendees.
